The Pakistan cricket seems disillusioned after T20 series whitewash by the so-called “B” grade team of Sri Lanka. It was a major attempt to bring back international cricket in Pakistan soil, but despite ODI series win under the belt, the T20 series loss broke the trust of Pakistan fans.

2019 will be a forgettable year for Pakistan. The year started with Proteas thrashing Pakistan in Test Series that was followed by 11 consecutive ODI defeats that includes drubbing by Australia 0-5 in Pakistan new home Abu Dhabi and World Cup 2019 debacle.

The defeat that hurt Pakistan the most was getting hammered by Indians during the World Cup, adding salt to injury was Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed yawning while keeping during the match that led to an outrage among Pakistan fans.

The fans were, seen trolling the Pakistan skipper highlighting the non-seriousness of Pakistan cricketers, poor fitness levels, the cricketers were slammed for eating burger and pizza late in the night.

After the World Cup debacle, the entire team management and selection panel was changed by the PCB. Misbah Ul Haq was given the triple responsibilities of a head coach+ chief selector + batting coach, while Sarfaraz was given the last chance to prove his mettle as a captain.

If the reports in The Express Tribune reports are to be believed, then after the humiliating loss 0-3 against Sri Lanka in T20 series Misbah Ul Haq has decided to remove Sarfaraz Ahmed as captain and has already conveyed the message to PCB CEO Wasim Khan.

The new names that emerged for captaincy are Azhar Ali for tests, while Mohammad Rizwan shall serve as vice-captain. In the shorter format, Mohammad Hafeez is in consideration to become the next Pakistan captain, while Babar Azam will serve as vice-captain.
