MI New York Bowling is not dependent on Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan

The MI New York bowling attack is not dependent on Rashid Khan, as evidenced in their win over the Washington Freedom in MLC playoff on Friday. Khan went wicketless in his four overs, but rest of the bowlers stepped up and restricted the opposition for 125/9 in 20 overs with MI securing the win by 16-runs.

Trent Boult was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 major wickets for 20 runs in his 4-over spell. Boult was well supported by Nosthush Kenjige, who took 2-19 in his quota of four overs. David Wiese also took a wicket to play a role in the win. MI New York was commanded to bat after the toss fell in favour of the opposition. Batting first, MINY batters posted a defendable target of 141 for 7 in their 20 overs.

Dewald Brevis shined with the bat as he amassed a blistering 57-run inning off 41 balls. Now the MI New York will face the Texas Super Kings in the second playoff which will be a major factor in deciding which team will qualify for the final against Seattle Orcas on July 31.

Rashid Khan is one of the best bowlers in the world, but he is not the only one in the MI New York lineup. Boult, Kenjige, and Rabada are all world-class bowlers, and they have all shown that they can be effective in the MLC. The MI New York bowling attack is not dependent on any one bowler. They have a deep pool of talent, and they are able to win matches even when one of their key bowlers is not at his best.

This is a good sign for MI New York as they look to win the MCL 2023 title. They have a bowling attack that is capable of winning matches in different ways, and this will make them a tough team to beat.
