Mehuli Ghosh Biography
Mehuli Ghosh, ranked 36th in the world and 14th in Asia as a sports shooter, is another athlete that will be on that flight to Paris to participate in the Olympics after a series of excellent performances consistently. Ghosh is mentored and coached by Arjuna Award winner Joydeep Karmarkar, who is a brilliant shooting coach and a former Olympic finalist as well. Ghosh is still very young, and with the kind of talent she possesses, if she continues to work hard, she can really be the next big thing in the Indian sports shooting setup.

Early Life
Mehuli Ghosh was born in the small village of Baidyabati in the city of Kolkata, West Bengal. She completed her schooling and then went to Adamas University for her higher education. She was into shooting from a very young age but started practicing properly in 2014 when she joined the Serampore Rifle Club. She was also involved in an incident where she accidentally hit a person in the club and was banned, but came back with proper guidance and mentorship.
Shooting Career
Ghoshβs shooting career began in 2017 when she competed in the preparatory junior shooting championship and finished in the seventh position. In 2018, she achieved the first major feat of her career as she won a silver medal at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. Mehuli won another silver medal in 2018 at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
In the 2019 Kathmandu South Asian Games, she won a gold medal in the 10 meter air rifle category in the individual event. In the 2022 Asian Games held in Hangzhou, Mehuli Ghosh was the winner of a silver medal in the womenβs 10 meter air rifle team category.
Between all these years, she never stopped winning and collected multiple medals at the World Championships in 2018, 2022, and 2023. To acknowledge her excellent performances, she was honored with the βFemale Young Athlete of the Yearβ award at the Sportstar Aces Awards in 2020.
