Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has come up with a recommendation that the number of Bilateral ODI series should be reduced. That is because the Cricket calendar is already packed, and to give rest to the players and focus more on the T20 format, it is necessary to reduce the number of ODI games. This has been recommended following the 2027 World Cup of Cricket. A meeting was held by the World Cricket Committee of MCC. All the members came to the conclusion, that because of the fact that the franchise level T20 Cricket is growing, the ODI Cricket would need to be reduced.

Main reasons behind the recommendation of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MC):

Undoubtedly, ODI cricket is still having a lot of fans. However, this is also certain that ODI Cricket is losing its fan base quickly. Most of the fans would like to watch was T20 match instead of an ODI game. However, the craze of ODI Cricket is certainly dropping.

This recommendation has certainly surprised the ODI Cricket fans. In the month of May, ICC general manager mentioned that nothing is going to be changed. But at the same time, he also showed concern, that ODI Cricket would need to find a way for its survival in the future.
