Manchester City’s very own Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne for the first time in his career will be the Captain of his national side. His exploits in the Premier League has definitely rocked every team lately and as an individual, he is one of the best technicians.

Only club legend David Silva has more assists in the PL than De Bruyne in a City shirt. The 32-year-old Belgian has also helped Man City win a number of major trophies including 4 premier league trophies in last 5 seasons as well as the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

UEFA Champions League is the only competition where they haven’t lifted the trophy but their hunt as usual is on. And before the last stretch of the season begins, the International break is up on us. Giant European nations will battle it out for the 2024 UEFA Euro’s.

The Belgium Red Devils under the management of Domenico Tedesco will play its first match under new leadership against Sweden in the opening match of the Euro qualifiers. Kevin De Bruyne has been appointed as the captain of the team for the first time in his career and he will look to get off to a good start.

“It’s an honour for me to be named and represent the country in this way. I’m almost 32. I’ve never considered international retirement. I think I can still bring something to the table and help the youngster.”

The 32-year-old is currently the top assist provided in English top-flight with 12 assists in and has 4 assists in UEFA Champions League. It will be an important International break for him as he will look to avoid sustaining injuries and also keep himself flowing in terms of form and spirit.

Kevin De Bruyne will replace Eden Hazard as the national team Captain after the latter retired from the International circuit after 2022 FIFA World Cup exit. Thibaut Curtois and Romelu Lukaku will serve as De Bruyne’s vice-captains.
