Lucas Torreira is an Uruguayan professional Footballer who plays as a midfielder for the Uruguay national team and the Premier League club Arsenal.
EARLY LIFE
Lucas was born on 11 February 1996 in Fray Bentos, Uruguay to mother Viviana Di Pascua and father Ricardo Torrieira.
He started his career in Football from his hometown youth club I.A 18 de Julio of Fray Bentos. In 2013 he joined Montevideo Wanderers before moving in Pescara’s Youth Team.

CLUB CAREER
Within the club, Pescara Lucas gradually within a few years was promoted into the senior side of the team. On 16th May 2015 he played made his senior debut for the team against Varese. Ahead he played five games for the team.
On 1st July 2015 he moved to Sampdoria for the value of 1.5 million euros but remained in Pescara on loan for the 2015-16 season during which he netted three league goals in 26 appearances.
On his return to Sampdoria, he made his Serie A Debut against Empoli, by the time he became a regular player of the club. In November 2016 he netted a crucial goal to win over Juventus.
On 10th July 2018, he signed Arsenal for 26.4 million euros and was assigned the jersey number 11 previously worn by Mesut Ozil. He made his Premier League debut on 12 August 2018 as a substitute on the 70th minute to defeat Manchester City by 2-0.
His performance against the Liverpool in 1-1 draw was highly praised by fans and pundits alike that brought him the man of the match award.
INTERNATIONAL CAREER
Lucas in March 2018 was called up for all Uruguay squad for the China Cup. He made his debut playing against the Czech Republic in the China cup semi-final.
In the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he was named in Uruguay’s provisional 26-man squad.

Lucas makes controversy he was pictured wearing Paris Saint-Germain kit as to thank his countrymen Edison Cavani for the gifting him, which made Arsenal fans worried to see their star midfielder in PSG Branding.
