Lucas Digne Biography: Lucas Digne is a French professional footballer who plays as left-back for the France national team and the Premier club Everton. He started his professional career through the club Lille, where he spent three years before joining the Paris Saint Germain in 2013 for which helped his fellow mates to conquer the Coupe de France, Coupe de la Liga and Trophee des Championship. He has also spent a year on loan with Roma before joining the club Barcelona for the Spanish La Liga club.

He joined the Club Everton in August 2018. For his national team, he had been part of the squad that won the under 2013 World Cup. For the senior side, he represented 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 UEFA Euro, helping his side reach the finals.

EARLY LIFE

Lucas was born on 20th July 1993 at Meaux commune in France to Karine Digne and Phillipe Digne. He was welcomed as the second child of his parents. Lucas’s elder brother Mathieu Digne was his inspiration, following whose tracks he aspired to choose football as his professional career. At a very young age, Lucas joined the local club mareuil-Sur-Qurcq that provided him enough space to exhales his experience in competitive football as well as toning his football skills. At the age of nine, he joined the club Crepy-en-Valois where he spends three years learning more basics.

Lucas Married his longtime girlfriend Tiziri Dinge in the month of December 2014. The lovebirds met at the age of 16 and since then their love has been flourishing. The couple has been blessed with a son in April 2019. Tiziri aspires to become a fashion or a fitness journalist in the future.

 PROFESSIONAL LIFE

After completing his early development at Lille, Lucas signed his professional deal with Lille on 27th July 2010 for three years. On 26th October 2011, he made his professional debut for the club against Sedan in a win by 6-1. At Ligue 1 he made his debut at the final match for only two minutes in a 3-0 win over Saint-Etienne. His performances in the club made him a regular from the 2012-13 season. On 23rd February 2013, he leads his team to win against the Ajaccio by 3-1. He netted his first goal on 7th April as a penalty in 5-0 home win over Lorient. After an overall decent career with Lille, Lucas jumped in Paris Saint- Germain on 17th July 2013, for a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain on an estimated fee of  15 million Euros. Despite been signed he was playing as an unused substitute while his team was lifting the Trophee des Champions.

He didn’t make his debut until 13th September in a 2-0 win against Bordeaux. Lucas played his full 90 minutes match in the 2014 Trophee des Champions against the Guingamp in a 2-0 win. Playing for the club he helped to win all domestic honors of 2014-15 but was again kept as an unused substitute during Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue Final. On 26th August 2015, he joined the Italian Serie A club Roma on a loan deal for 2.5 million Euros. He made his debut for the club after five days of signing the deal with the club in a 2-1 victory against the Juventus at Stadio Olimpico. On 26th September he netted his first goal against the club Capri in a home win by 5-1. After completing his loan period Lucas moved to Barcelona on a five-year deal for 16.5 million Euros, playing for the Spanish La Liga side he played his first match in a 0-2 victory against Sevilla at the 2016 Supercopa de Espana as a substitute at the 27th minute. Lucas completed his first season appearing in 26 games. In his 2017-18 second season, he played 20 matches for Barcelona, in which the team won the league and cup double under their new manager Ernesto Valverde. On 18th October 2017, he assisted the Barcelona star Lionel Messi in a 3-1 win home win over Olympiacos in the Champions’ League group stage. Lucas decided to leave Barcelona for Everton for a five-year deal on an initial fee of 18 million Euros. He played his debut match after ten days of signing the contract in a 2-2 draw at the Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Playing for the Everton he was named as the Club’s Players of the Season based on the votes he gained from the supporters. Lucas has been linked with his national team since its youth squad. He has represented in the U16, U17, U18 and the U20 team which won the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Playing from the senior side of the team Lucas has been part of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, 2016 UEFA Euro, and 2018 FIFA World Cup.
