Los Angeles Lakers clinch number 1 spot in Western Conference since 2010

Los Angeles Lakers who officially secure number one seed in Western Conference on Tuesday as they beat Utah Jazz by 116-108. Special credit for the victory should be given to Anthony Davis who scored 42 points,12 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in his fifth point game this season.

Their star player Lebron James appreciated his team effort but did not look promising during the encounter against Utah, but he is assured that he will back into rhythm while preserving himself for more important games.

Few days before playing against Utah and clinching the number 1 spot James stressed on giving priority to health of the players which is the important thing needed in order to play big tournament like this as he said “Health is wealth. That’s the No. 1 thing, and then chemistry comes with that on the floor,” James said. “Going into the postseason as healthy as we can be is what’s most important.

“Clinching the one seed is not much of a home-court advantage here, but we worked hard to be the No. 1 team in the West and possibly the No. 1 team in the league. Milwaukee is playing extremely well, but we got this far so we might as well try to figure it out and close it off the right way.” He added.

Lakers have also clinched the number 1 spot in the Western Conference for the first time since 2010. In 2010 they clinched the first spot due to magical performance by late basketball great Kobe Bryant. Till now they have clinched  16 Championship titles followed by 31 conference and 24 division titles respectively.

James who is playing for Lakers from 2018 onwards and often regarded as one of the best basketball players in the world. His achievements include Four Most Valuable Player Award(MVP) and two Olympic medals for America.
