Latest ICC Test Rankings out, Mayank Agarwal in Top 10

Quite a lot of Test matches were played in the last couple of days, following which the ICC MRF Test rankings list has been updated. Marnus Labuschagne 185, which helped Australia beat Pakistan by an innings and five runs, has moved him to the 14th place from the 35th. Bradley-John Watling too achieved career-best ranking for his 205 which helped New Zealand beat England by an innings and 65 runs. With that knock, the batsman has now achieved the 12th rank in the list.

Apart from Labuschagne, David Warner has moved up six places to 17th, Joe Burns 11 places to 62nd and Matthew Wade to 70th. India captain Virat Kohli’s century in Kolkata in the pink-ball Test has helped him move up to the second spot while opener Mayank Agarwal has reached the top 10 for the first time.

Agarwal, who struck a double century in the first Test against Bangladesh in Indore, now has 700 points and is on the 10th position. He is the fourth Indian batsmen in the top 10 list after Cheteshwar Pujara (791) and Ajinkya Rahane (759) who are at fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Talking about the bowlers, Australia’s Josh Hazlewood has moved from 13th to joint-ninth in the bowlers’ list. Meanwhile, Ishant Sharma has moved up to the 17th place.

In the Team Rankings, India lead the chart. In the batsmen rankings, Steve Smith, followed by Virat Kohli leads the chart. In the bowlers ranking, Jasprit Bumrah ranks 5th, four spots behind Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Neil Wagner and Jason Holder. In the all-rounders’ list, Ravindra Jadeja is enjoying the second spot while Ravichandran Ashwin is at the fifth spot.

ICC Test Batting Ranking

In the ICC Test Championship, India have won all of their seven games so far and have 360 points. However, they will next be playing New Zealand away from home, which is definitely not going to be an easy series win for them.
