Before the start of the 19th Match between B-Love Kandy and Dambulla Aura, B-Love Kandy had already qualified for the next stage. However, they certainly wanted to show their skills in this match too. But there is no doubt that Dambulla Aura was a far better team. It showed a better performance, in both batting and bowling areas. In this manner, they were able to prove that they are certainly the best team of the tournament.

Contribution of Dinesh Chandimal

  • At the time Dinesh Chandimal walked out to bat, the score was 11-1. The opening stand was not good, and it was up to him to give a good performance and take the team to a good total.
  • Chandimal played with a strike rate of just above 100, and he kept on rotating the strike for a healthy partnership. However, he kept on falling short of partners.
  • Because of this, nobody was able to give good support to Chandimal, he was not able to play with a better strike rate.
  • It took him 46 balls to make the contribution of 50 runs. Even though he got 6 fours, still his strike rate was not the best, because of the dot balls he played.
  • Angelo Mathews supported him for a while, but this was certainly not enough for the team.
  • At the time Chandimal got out, the score of the team was only 120-8, and it was certain that they would not be able to win.

Dhananhaya de Silva was certainly the best bowler for his team. As a captain, he led from the front, by taking 4 wickets. At the same time he maintained a phenomenal economy of 3 runs per over. For his brilliant contribution, he even won the Player of the Match award.
