Kris Srikkanth indirectly asks Sanjay Majrekar to stop favoring Mumbai players when asked about naming their World cup probable 11s!
As the whole cricketing nation remains in the hangover of IPL for the next 2 months, Rahul Dravid and his management could be doing their back work to fix India’s middle-order as well as re-look the bowling unit if needed for the upcoming 50-over Cricket world cup.
Rohit Sharma will definitely lead the side and he will have an opportunity to win his first ICC trophy as Captain during the World Test Championship final in June. Last year, India’s bowling unit had failed against England in the semi-finals with the Three Lions winning the game by 10-wickets.
And before team India locks in for the World Cup, former cricketers Krishnamachari Srikkanth and Sanjay Manjrekar got into a heated argument when naming the probable playing XI for the tournament which starts from October 5. It all took place when they sat together as Star Sports expert analysts.

When they were asked the question, Srikkanth was quick to name his precicted the line-up for the WC and he also told his co-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar to stop favoring players who come from Mumbai. Srikkanth named – “Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, number four I’ll still pick Suryakumar Yadav. KL Rahul could be fifth, Hardik Pandya sixth. Ravindra Jadeja at 7, Axar Patel, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj.”
Krish Srikkanth said that for someone like Sanjay Manjrekar, everything is Mumbai. They've to think beyond Mumbai. KL Rahul might've been inconsistent, but the same guy made his debut in Australia and made a century.

And Manjrekar followed up by saying that Lord Shardul Thakur can also prove to be beneficial for the team and as we all know, Srikkanth is a little wayward and outspoken, he quickly shrugged off his inclusion and said – “Not Shardul. Arshdeep could be there. Shardul can take wickets, but he can also concede 12 runs in an over. You’re from Mumbai, that’s why you’re naming Shardul!”
Everyone else in the panel alongside the 2 were Yusuf Pathan and they were left stunned by Srikkanth’s response.
“Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav; two of these spinners can play in the XI.” – Srikkanth concluded via Star Sports.
