Kiren Rijiju announces the closure of the Training Centers for the Next 21 Days

Kiren Rijiju, India’s Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports on Tuesday announced that all the training camps and training centers across the country will be shut down for the next 21 days. The decision comes after the Indian government announced the lockdown of 21 days to curb the spreading of the deadly Coronavirus. 

Kiren Rijiju took to his twitter account as he confirmed the shutdown for the next three weeks in order to stay safe and fight coronavirus outbreak. 

Yesterday, the Indian Prime Minister said that the nationwide lockdown is the best option in the current scenario and urged people to stay at home. 

“In view of the current situation, the nationwide total lockdown will be in place for the next 21 days- three weeks,” PM Modi said,  also citing that “It is a kind of a curfew,”

The Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) agreed to postpone the Summer Olympic for the next year and that the event will be conducted before the Summers of 2021. Kiren Rijiju welcomed the decision taken by the IOC for their attempt to control the spreading of the novel virus. 

Rijiju also urged everyone to stay fit and do some physical exercises even if they are indoors as he tweeted,I’m also doing Rope Skipping and asking everyone to do it. #Fitindia fights Corona even when staying at home.” 

Many athletes have posted a video of themselves either skipping the ropes while others appealed to the people asking them to stay indoors for the next 21 days so as to fight the coronavirus in the country.
