LA Clippers star guard Kawhi Leonard is now all set to join his side in Orlando for the NBA restart at the end of this month. Earlier, the Clippers had announced that Kawhi didn’t travel with the team to the Orlando bubble and revealed he would join the side later.
However, the team’s coach Doc Rivers spoke to the media on Thursday to inform that Kawhi would be joining the side in the latter part of the day. He also said that shooting guard Landry Shamet wouldn’t be joining the team as he has tested positive of the coronavirus. But he still has a chance to join the team in the next two weeks if he tests negative for the deadly virus.
“Kawhi is on his way and should arrive sometime this evening,” Rivers said.

Apparently, Kawhi didn’t travel with the side as he was dealing with his internal family matter and also sought permission from the franchise management.
The Clippers cannot take the risk of missing out on the important players especially when the season is about to resume and thus would be relieved to have the star guard back in the side. But when he reaches Orlando, Kawhi will have to abide by the self-isolation protocols inside the bubble before he resumes his training with the other teammates.
Kawhi is currently averaging 26.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 32.2 minutes per game. Besides, he has also won the Kobe Bryant MVP Award this year. He is also one of the best defenders in the league and has been exhibiting great performances ever since joining the Clippers for 2019-20 season.
