Josh Philippe Personal Life: Josh Philippe was born on 1st June 1997 in Subiaco, Australia. He was born to Steve Phillipe, who is a former Australian cricketer and also served as the coach of Western Australia Women’s side between 2006 and 2011. His mother, Leanne Phillippe, too was a former cricketer who played for Western Australia between 1986 and 1987.
Josh Philippe Cricket Career: Josh Philippe is regarded as the future star of Australia. He has been piling on runs consistently in the domestic cricket for a while. The Australia cricketer was the third-highest leading run-getter for the side. He scored 487 runs and played an instrumental role in helping Sydney Sixers won their maiden IPL trophy.
Ahead of the IPL 2020, Phillippe was bought by RCB for as many as 20 Lakhs in the auctions. He will share the dressing room with some of the greats like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers etc.

While the English player thought it would scare the youngster, Philippe hit a boundary in the very next delivery. They both then engaged in a verbal spat.
- On being asked about what Anderson had to say, Philippe said “Jimmy Anderson wasn’t too impressed early doors. I couldn’t really tell you to be honest (what Anderson said). He just said a couple of things walking past. It was all in a friendly nature. I think he just wasn’t too impressed I got hold of him early.”
Josh Philippe Domestic Career
- He made his T20 debut at the 2017–18 Big Bash League against Sydney Sixers. He scored 7 runs in that game.
- Though his T20 debut was unimpressive, Philippe had a brilliant List A debut. He made his debut at the 2018–19 JLT One-Day Cup on 18 September 2018. He scored a run-a-ball 59 in that game.
- He made his first-class debut on the 2017–18 Sheffield Shield, on 16 February 2018. He scored 74 runs in the second innings of this match.

- Philippe scored half-centuries on both his List A and first-class debut.
- He was the third-highest run-scorer of the 2019/20 Big Bash League. He scored 487 runs in 16 games, at an average of nearly 40. He also maintained a strike rate of almost 130.
- He won man of the match award in the game between Prime Minister’s XI and South Africa. He scored 57 runs in that game and was responsible for 4 dismissals.
- With an explosive 49-ball unbeaten 86 against Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League, he broke the record of the highest runs scored in an innings by a Sydney Sixers cricketer.
