Josh Hazlewood Lauds RCB teammate Virat Kohli Ahead of WTC Final 2023

Australian Star bowler Josh Hazlewood, has praised Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj, teammates with Royal Challengers Bangalore, ahead of the World Test Championship final matchup against India at The Oval beginning June 7.

Hazlewood, who has struggled with several injuries over the past six months, was forced to end his time in the IPL due to a side injury. However, as Australia prepares for the important final, he believes he is not far from bowling at full strength.

Hazlewood claimed Kohli’s work ethic is what makes him the player he is while discussing the Indian superstar, whose wicket he will be attempting to take at The Oval.

I believe that what sticks out most about him is his arduous work ethic. First and foremost, it’s his physical condition, followed by his skill development, especially in hitting and fielding.

He consistently arrives at the field for training first and departs last. He trains constantly at a high intensity, and everyone else gets caught up in the wave. According to Hazlewood, that might spread to other players and help them as well.

I was a little late getting there (to RCB this year), but before then he was on fire,” Hazlwood said of RCB’s leading wicket taker Siraj, who is anticipated to play a significant role in the WTC final.

He consistently ranks among the top wicket takers, and his economy rate—which was six or six and a half overs per over at Chinnaswamy, the home field of the Royal Challengers Bangalore—was likely the deciding factor. He bowls well and had excellent control.

Prior to the WTC final, the Australian cricket team has been practising in Formby, England. Hazlewood says he feels good going into the big game after training with the club on Monday.
