Jack Leach Buys Ben Stokes’ Headingley Celebration Painting at PCA Awards Ceremony

Wednesday evening was a memorable affair for England players at the PCA (Professional Cricket Association) awards. The embracing moment was when Jack Leach and Ben Stokes hugged each other after Jack Leach bought Ben Stokes Headingley celebration painting at PCA awards with both claiming that he would treasure the moment forever.

Ben Stokes was awarded Player of the Year Award in London. This has been an amazing year for the New Zealand born cricketer with two high points of 2019 being England winning the World Cup 2019 and levelling the Ashes series.

On receiving the award Stokes reminded the audience that Cricket is a team game. “While this is an individual award, it is within a team sport so I am only in this position because of what other guys in our squad have achieved as well,” Outlook cited agencies as quoting the Ben Stokes as saying.

“What we have done as a team in 2019 is phenomenal, to win the World Cup and draw the Ashes has been a fantastic summer and something I am proud of personally and as a team. “he further added.

Ben Stokes scored 465 runs and took seven wickets during ICC World Cup 2019, while in Ashes 2019 he scored 441 runs and took 8 wickets.

During the award ceremony, Ben Stokes hitting the winning run painting was introduced for the auction and jubilant Jack Leach wasted no time and bought the painting. Interestingly when Stokes hit the winning run, the batsman on the other side was Jack Leach.
