Indian Super League Football Club Odisha FC signs Brazilian striker Diego Mauricio on one year deal for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

He played for many top leagues around the world after making his senior football club debut for the Brazilian club Flamengo in 2010 where he developed bonding with former Brazilian stalwart Ronaldinho.

He also had a brief stint with other clubs like Sports Club do Recife, Bragantino and Centro Sportive Alagoano. He was also part of that Brazil’s under 20 talent squad and played in a team which had budding superstars like Neymar, Firminho, Oscar and Philippe Countinho.

He was elated after becoming the member of Odisha FC as the striker expressed ” I am very excited to have joined Odisha FC and I look forward to work with coach Stuart Baxter. I have heard a lot of interesting things about the young Indian players at Odisha FC, the juggernauts and India as a country. This project excites me a lot and I am coming with an aim to win the league”.

Stuart Baxter Head coach of Odisha FC was delighted to have Diego in his squad as the former said that the latter player is a delight to watch and brings positive atmosphere in the dressing room and support his teammates in a best possible way so that Team can win at any cost.

The upcoming editions of India’s prominent football league will be scheduled in Goa and due to coronavirus pandemic, the matches will be played behind closed doors. The stadiums where all the matches will be played are Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda StadiumStadium, Gatorda StadiumStadium and Tilak Maidan Stadium, Vasco.
