Ireland are all set to host Bangladesh for the four-match T20I series against Bangladesh in England. Due to renovations and unavailability of ICC-standard pitches in Ireland, they are unable to host any matches as of now and that is why the fixture has shifted to England where the matches will be played at The Oval, Chelmsford, Bristol and Edgbaston as well.

However, this will be the first time that Ireland will host a full series at a neutral venue, and it would also be the very first time since the Pakistan and Australia series in 2010 that England will be playing the role of a host to a neutral bilateral series as well.

However, Stormont is set to play the host to the three-match One Day International series preceding the Twenty20 International series, before New Zealand and Pakistan will tour the country for white-ball series later in the season.

We greatly appreciate the support of the ECB and each of the venues involved in hosting this series. This will be a great set of fixtures being played in some of England’s finest and most atmospheric grounds,” said Warren Deutrom, the Chief Executive of Ireland Cricket.

Warren Deutrom further added that 2020 is going to be one of Ireland’s biggest home seasons as there are three major nations who will tour there and 15 matches to host as well. Moreover, it will be their most complex match allocation process ever as they are currently facing multiple challenges, including the loss of access to one of their four international grounds for probably two seasons as well.

However, Tom Harrison, the CEO of the ECB showed his excitement with the joint venture. He said that they are ready to help to protect and grow the game around the world and also happy to help Cricket Ireland for the upcoming series. They are ready to welcome both Ireland and Bangladesh for the series which is to be played in England. Moreover, he thinks this series will bring a lot of spectators on the ground who will enjoy some high-quality cricket at all four grounds as well.
