“IPL can make you or break you look at Bumrah”, Kapil Dev continues sending verbal jabs
Senior Indian Pacer Jasprit Bumrah too will not find solace in front of India’s first captain to win the World Cup – Kapil Dev. Everyone is aware of Bumrah’s situation and how he is going to put such a massive impact. But just in case he fails to appear for India during the Semi-finals or Finals of the Cricket World Cup, it will just be a time wasted.
The 29-year-old has been out of Cricketing action since September 2022 due to a recurring back injury before the Asia Cup. His absence saw India bow out smoothly in ICC World T20 semi-finals and the WTC final earlier in June 2023 without even putting up a fight.

On the other hand, BCCI worked behind the scenes for his Injury and the Ahmedabad born pacer will make his first appearance in Blue colors. He is all set to infact Captain India for the tour to Ireland with 3 T20Is from 18-23 August. It will be a run through for Jasprit Bumrah ahead of an important set of Games in Asia Cup and CWC.

Regardless of other bowlers, we all know Bumrah is going to spearhead them. But the 1983 World Cup winner Kapil Dev has cautioned BCCI to be ready for criticism if the Pacer doesn’t get going. “What happened to Bumrah? He started working with so much belief, but if he’s not there (in World Cup semi-final/final) we wasted time on him. Rishabh Pant… such a great cricketer. Had he been there, our Test cricket would’ve been better.” – Kapil Dev said.
Kapil Dev also targets BCCI and IPL
“If you have a small injury, you would play in IPL if it’s an important game. At this stage, cricket board has to understand how much cricket they should play. That is the bottomline. If today, you have resources, money, but you don’t have three or five-year calendars. There’s something wrong with cricket board there.”
