IPL 2025: KKR vs CSK – Which team’s losing streak will end tonight?

The Indian Premier League 2025 has already shown is roller-coaster like pattern. Some of the strongest teams are struggling at the bottom end of the table, while some unexpected teams being touted as underdogs have made their way to the top currently.

The upcoming 25th match of IPL 2025 will feature a much-awaited anticipated clash between the Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, at the Chepauk ground in Chennai.

In their last outing, Kolkata Knight Riders had faced a marginal-run defeat against the Lucknow Super Giants, falling short of being victorious by just four runs. Despite their efforts this season, KKR currently sits on the sixth place of the points table, with two wins and three losses from five matches.

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings has been struggling as a unit to use their firepower and win matches in the current season. Following a tough loss to Punjab Kings, CSK is on the ninth position right now, with only one win and four losses in five matches.

The upcoming match between these two teams is expected to be a closely contested battle, as both will be eagerly waiting to end the losing streak and win the two points. With the CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad out of the remaining tournament due to an elbow fracture, the legend and CSK icon MS Dhoni will now take over as the team’s new captain for the remainder of the season.

If they go down to KKR, it will be the first time that they will have lost three IPL games in a row at Chepauk.

With both teams at bottom half of the table and also quite disappointed with the pitches at their respective home grounds, KKR and CSK as two formidable teams have not been able to click as a unit and finish the matches in their favour.

The Ajinkya Rahane and MS Dhoni led teams have faced each other in 30 matches so far. Out of these, CSK have won the clash nineteen times whereas KKR have come out victorious on ten occasions. Just 1 match ended without a result in favour of either of the teams.

It will be interesting to see MS Dhoni don the cap of a skipper and will have the entire fanbase cheering for him as he would step out in a role, deeply familiar to him.
