The wait is over. Indian Premier League 2023 – the 16th season of the cash laden cricketing league begins from tonight with defending Champions Gujarat Titans taking on 4-time champions Chennai Super Kings for the opening fixture of the 2023 season.
All the action for the first match will get underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium and there will also be an opening ceremony featuring some of the country’s biggest stars before the GT takes on CSK from 7:30 PM onwards. The league is known for its blend with Bollywood and tonight fans will get to witness a star studded line-up.

Indian actresses Tammanah Bhatia and Rashmika Mandana who have worked in South-Indian as well as Bollywood movies will grace the event through their stunning performances while famous Singer Arijit Singh is also in the line-up.
It will be for the first time in almost 5 years that the BCCI has given green light to carry out the opening ceremony. The 2018 edition was the last time an opening ceremony was held. In 2019, the BCCI pulled away from organizing the ceremony in order pay homage to the Indian soldiers who lost their lives during the Pulwama attacks.

And opening ceremonies for the 2020,2021 and 2022 season was cancelled due to the risk and threat of COVID-19. However, after the risk has certainly lowered, we will be seeing out favorite stars perform right before the players get to the field.
