IPL 2023 Final: CSK and GT to lock horns on 29th May for the coveted trophy

CSK and GT to meet on 29th May for IPL 2023 Final

For the first time in the history of IPL, the Final will not be played in the date as it was planned. Instead of 28th May, IPL 2023 Final will now get underway on 29th May i.e the reserve day. Due to continuous rain, CSK Vs GT at the Narendra Modi Stadium has been called off and the action will unfurl tomorrow.

There was a lot of anticipation for this fixture as it is going to be a replay of the opening match of IPL 2023. Both of the teams have been near perfect and have been a reflection of perfection this season. Chennai Super Kings made a comeback to the final after a terrible last term where they finished 10th.

They have gone strength to strength in IPL 2023 and finished number 2 in the league table with 17 points. Gujarat Titans on the other hand played like true defending champions and secured back-to-back number 1 finishes in league table.

When both met at the season opener, GT prevailed while in Qualifier 1, CSK equaled the equation. The IPL 2023 final could not have seen 2 better teams than this.

If IPL 2023 Final washes out tomorrow again, GT will win for finishing higher than CSK

The winner of IPL 2023 could be decided via the position of the team inĀ  league table. If rain washes out the match tomorrow then Gujarat Titans will be declared champions of the 16th edition.

It is confirmed that the trophy won’t be shared tomorrow. Every possible effort would be made to get a result, if a 5-over match isn’t possible then a Super Over will decide the champion team. If Super Over isn’t possible, Gujarat Titans will win the IPL because of their superior league position.
