The league stage of IPL 2023 has entered its final stage. The last league match of the Chennai Super Kings team is to be held on May 20 from Delhi Capitals. This match is going to be very important from the playoff point of view. Recently, CSK had to face defeat against KKR, since then CSK has also found it difficult to play the qualifiers. In such a situation, CSK has suffered a major setback.

CSK’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes will return home after CSK’s last league game due to not being fully fit. That is, Stokes is not going to be present in the playoff matches for CSK. This has been revealed in a report by ESPN Cricinfo.

Since, Ben Stokes has played only two matches this season. In both those matches, he was seen as a flop with both the ball and the bat. Since then he has been sitting on the bench due to injury. Now head coach Stephen Fleming has given a statement regarding his injury. He has said that Stokes is not ready to bowl yet. But he can be useful to the team as a batting cover.

CSK team has performed well this season forgetting last year. So far the team has won 7 out of 13 matches and lost five. One of the team’s matches was marred by rain. Right now CSK is second in the points table with 15 points. From here the team is just one win away from going to the playoffs.

The team has to play the last match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, May 20 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. If the team wins here, it will reach the playoffs.
