IPL fever will be in the air as the eight franchises get together for the auctions tomorrow in Kolkata. While some sides will be hopeful of filling the void in their teams, others will be looking to pick up back-ups to make their respective sides even stronger.
As many as 332 cricketers, including 186 Indians and 146 foreigners, will be up for grabs to fill in 73 slots. Players like Glenn Maxwell, Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy and Pat Cummins will be the most sought after overseas players, while Robin Uthappa is likely to be the highest bid Indian tomorrow.
Kings XI Punjab have the most money to spend with INR 42.70 crore in their kitty, while the other team who could be the most active is Virat Kohli’s RCB, who released all but two foreigners ahead of the IPL auctions. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are more or less settled, and could just be looking to fill a few minor voids.
Teams like Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have a number of weak links to fill, with the former looking to bring on board a few quality all-rounders and a few international seamers.
RR, on the other hand, will be looking to boost up their batting side, with even Ajinkya Rahane not in their ranks for IPL 2020.
