IOA likely to declare Tokyo Olympics flag bearers name by July 5th 2021

With the Tokyo Games around the corner, Indian Olympic Association( IOA) around the corner is likely to declare the flag bearers name for the opening ceremony of the showpiece event by July 5th 2021.

“IOA is planning to declare on the names 5th of July. We have some names which are sorting out but as of now, majorly it is PV Sindhu and Bajrang Punia but again it’s not official. Final name will be declared by 5th of July” source close to IOA told ANI.

Meanwhile, Sports Authority of India and IOA continued their efforts to sensitise the Tokyo Bound athletes with a session titled “From India with pride” that helped them to understand Japanese culture and address the possible barriers besides bring ideal ambassadors of the country.

The session was attended by badminton player and table tennis players including the likes of PV Sindhu, Sai Praneeth, Manika Batra, Sathiyan Gnasekaran and others. The session was conducted by renowned professional Joy Bhattacharya for which Go Sports Knowledge was Sports Partner.

115 Indian players have so far qualified for upcoming Tokyo Olympics and including the support staff and contigents which will be closed to 190 who will travelling from India for the upcoming biggest sporting event in the world.

Athletes including the likes of Deepika Kumari, Bajrang Punia, PV Sindhu, Neeraj Chopra, Mary Kom, Sai Kom Mirabai Chanu are expected to win medal for the nation in the upcoming Olympics 2020.

So far India has managed 28 medals from 31 edition of Olympics held till date and as per Gracenote who are Olympic statistical expert based company predicted that India will win atleast 17 medals in Tokyo 2020 including 4 gold medals.
