Inter Milan set to permanently sign Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United

Inter Milan on Wednesday announced signing the flop Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez permanently within the next 24 hours. Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar also confirmed the news of his permanent transfer after his side’s victory over LASK by 2-1.

The 31-year-old striker had joined Inter Milan in the last August on a season-long loan from the United. He featured in 29 matches across all the leagues and managed to score only four goals so far. It is undeniable that the Chile international is going through a rough patch of his career as visible from his stats.

“We have agreed [the deal],” United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said his side qualified for the Europa League quarterfinals.

“He has enjoyed his time there. He is a top player but for whatever reason, we didn’t see the best of him. He is a top professional and we wish him all the best.” he added.

Inter Milan Chief Executive Beppe Marotta also spoke on Alexis’s acquisition as he said, “He is not official yet but unofficially he is ours for three seasons. We believe in him a lot and we are happy.”

“We believe in him, that he can be a strong part of this squad and are happy to have concluded this deal” Marotta added.

That means Alexis bags a three-year contract with the Serie A club and finally gets rid of the loan transfer under his name. However, the official announcement is yet to be made by Milan. And as per the reports, Sanchez would make £135,000 per week after the taxes.

Inter Milan also expects him to be available for the ‘final eight’ clashes of the Europa League, after the win over Getafe 2-0 on Thursday (IST)
