The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) is about to kick off its first-ever season in Mumbai, India. From March 6th to March 15th, you can expect a cricketing experience like no other.

Imagine six teams battling it out for the championship title. We have the Bangalore Strikers, Chennai Singhams, Falcon Risers Hyderabad, Majhi Mumbai, Srinagar Ke Veer, and the Tigers of Kolkata. These teams will go head-to-head in 18 thrilling matches, all played in a special T10 format.

Now, let’s talk about the action on the field. Each team will play 10 overs per inning, ensuring fast-paced and exhilarating matches. No time for boredom here. After the initial 15 league matches, the top 4 teams will advance to the semi-finals, leading to an intense final match on March 15th.

All the matches will take place at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, Mumbai. It’s going to be a cricket extravaganza in one place.

But wait, there’s more. We have some legendary figures joining the league. Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar will be a core committee member, bringing his expertise and passion to the ISPL. And guess who’s the chief mentor? It’s none other than former coach Ravi Shastri. Their presence will surely add to the excitement.

Bollywood superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Ram Charan, Suriya Sivakumar, Saif Ali Khan, and Kareena Kapoor Khan are co-owners of the ISPL teams. They will bring a touch of glamour to the league, making it an unforgettable experience.

Let’s not forget about the talented players, 96 players were selected from a pool of 350. The first-ever ISPL auction was held on February 25 and a total of INR 4.91 crore (US$610,000) was spent on the players selected.

Abhishek Kumar Dalhor emerged as the most expensive player, he was bought by Majhi Mumbai for INR 27 lakhs. While Uzair Shaikh topped the U19 category as Tigers of Kolkata acquired his services for INR 5.8 lakh. These players are ready to showcase their skills and make their mark in the ISPL.
