Ind vs Pak match to be played on drop-in pitch, Know what is it
Preparations for ICC’s mega tournament T20 World Cup have intensified. There is still a month left for this big tournament to start. This time the venue of the World Cup is America (USA) and the West Indies. America is going to use drop-in pitch.
This is the first time that a big tournament like the Cricket World Cup is being played in America. World Cup matches are to be played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in America. In this regard, the work of making the drop-in pitch in the stadium has started.
What is drop-in pitch?
The first match in New York is to be played between Sri Lanka and South Africa on June 3. The pitches are brought from Florida to New York in a 20 cm trailer truck. These types of pitches are known as drop-in pitches. These are the pitches which are built elsewhere and then brought into the stadium.

10 pitches have been prepared for the stadium
Sharing information on its website, the International Cricket Council said that the work of making the pitch at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York has started. 10 pitches have been prepared for the stadium and have been sent there. The pitches for Nassau County Stadium have been built under the supervision of Adelaide Oval head curator Damien Hough.

Pitch curator Damien Hough statement
A total of 8 matches are to be played during the T20 World Cup in Nassau. 34 thousand spectators can sit together in the stadium and enjoy the match. Speaking to the ICC, Adelaide Oval’s head pitch curator Damien Hough said,
‘We couldn’t be happier with this. Everything is going according to plan. All the pitches are in really good condition and all our standards and measures that we adopt exceed expectations. We hope that we will get a good T20 pitch, which will have good pace, good bounce on which it will be easy to play shots. You want the batsman to be able to play shots all around the field in the T20 format, so this is our design and initially our ambition was to make a pitch on those lines.’Â
Ind vs Pak match will be held in drop-in pitch
Among the 20 teams participating in the T20 World Cup. 9 teams will play in New York. The biggest match of the World Cup, the India vs Pakistan match, will also be held on this ground. The clash between India and Pakistan will take place on June 9.
