IND Vs AUS 4th Test : Sourav Ganguly praised this star Indian batter for his Grit!

Punjab born batter Shubman Gill is one of the main factors behind India’s outstanding response to Australia’s 480-run first inning advantage. The young opener batsman took the initiative right away and produced a brilliant knock that may have won the game by 128 runs.

India laid down a significant portion of the path on Day 4, but there is still much work to be done. However, Shubman Gill, who has recently excelled as India’s opener, is the primary subject of attention. In the fourth test, Gill made it abundantly obvious that he is here to stay after his form in white ball cricket earlier this year was on full display.

The 2020–21 Border–Gavaskar Cup was Gill’s debut Test encounter. He made an impact at the summit with 259 runs at an impressive 51.8. He was added to the India Test lineup as a consequence of this start, but he was removed after getting hurt while travelling with England in 2021.

Following opener Shubman Gill’s outstanding performance against Australia in the fourth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar cup on Saturday, former India captain Sourav Ganguly had nothing but the highest praise for the player.

A sensational century by youngster Gill on Day 3 of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy final at the Narendra Modi Stadium paid back the selectors’ confidence in him after he took KL Rahul’s spot in the Indian playing XI, who was out of form. This placed India in a commanding position.

“It’s a good wicket to bat. They got some tough wickets in the last three matches. This is a proper wicket, so they batted well. Shubhman Gill is very impressive. He is in tremendous form. Both are different. We need to keep Test cricket in a proper way that’s it, it is important.” – said Sourav Ganguly via India Today.

The 4th Test will resume tomorrow for Day 5 but the match is most likely to come out with a draw.
