IND Vs AUS 4th Test Mark Waugh's unhealthy obsession with Indian pitches continues! Criticized Ahmedabad pitch curators for this reason!

It seems former Australian cricketers will always have an issue with the pitches in India. Ever since the first test at Nagpur, the players who once represented the baggy greens as well as the Australian media have ranted about the condition of the tracks in India and Mark Waugh is back at it again.

After condemning the tracks at Nagpur, Delhi and Indore, Mark Waugh has discovered flaws in the pitch at the Narendra Modi Cricket stadium which is quite a batting friendly pitch and has seen Australia get off to a comfortable start. Mark Waugh once again has slammed the pitch curators for their delay in deciding the final track for the all important 4th Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy 2023.

The track at Ahmedabad has been by far the best track to bat on as compared to the previous 3 tracks but Mark Waugh is still not having it. Apparently, the former Australian captain is desperate to have something done about the curators who produced 2 tracks for the decider.

The curators gave the green signal only last evening as to which track will host the match and Waugh is left furious with the delay. “This is not on. I don’t know how you don’t know what pitch you’re playing on. In Australia, I think the groundsman and curators are told months in advance, so they set up the pitch for the camera, the side-screen, the spectators. But in India, it’s different.”

The 57-year-old wants actions to be taken against the curators and said that he has no idea as to what is actually going on. Criticizing the Indore pitch was justified to all extents but the Ahmedabad track has been serving well and has offered help to batters.

And despite Australia in a commanding position with Usman Khawaja closing in on his century, Mark Waugh’s comments shows that Australia’s unhealthy obsession with Indian pitches will continue.
