A bright news has come across for Indian Cricket fans and especially Virat Kohli fans. On Day 4 of the 4th Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy 2023 at Ahmedabad, Virat Kohli has at last ended his Test century drought against Australia as India are getting closer to end a massive trail of 480 runs.
Kohli was the 2nd Centurion for India in the 4th Test and what a special knock it was from the Delhi-born batter. His last test ton came against Bangladesh back in 22 November 2019 but since then a Test full-century went missing. However, this one would give him a lot of relief and India are standing firm on Day 4.
The Man. The Celebration.
Take a bow, @imVkohli 💯🫡#INDvAUS #TeamIndia pic.twitter.com/QrL8qbj6s9

India’s 1st innings came to a good start through openers Shubman Gill and Captain Rohit Sharma. Both of them made a partnership of 72 before Rohit Sharma departed for 35. Cheteshwar Pujara came in at number 3 and built a solid partnership alongside Gill who was looking in prime form.
Pujara and Gill had a partnership of 115 before the former got out in his 40s but Gill stood strong and smacked his first Test century against Australia in this Border-Gavaskar trophy. Gill and Kohli also had a good partnership and the former batter somehow looked as if he will score a double century but Nathan Lyon tricked him for an LBW and Gill departed for 128.
300 up for #TeamIndia.@imVkohli & @imjadeja going strong with a 55-run partnership.

But that is when Virat Kohli took over. After a short partnership with Ravindra Jadeja, the 33-year-old Batter parntered with Wicket keeper KS Bharat and took his innings forward. Slowly and steadily, Kohli regained his former self and smashed his long awaited Test century for the first time in over 3 years.
Another solid 50-run partnership for #TeamIndia between @imVkohli & @KonaBharat 🙌🙌

His hundred on Day 4 was his 75th International century across all formats. However, for India the job is still not done yet as they will have to gain at least a 100-150 runs and declare as it is already Day 4.
ICYMI – @KonaBharat dispatched the short balls from Cameron Green into the stands.
