IND Vs AUS 3rd ODI : Surya Kumar Yadav is still transitioning into ODI Cricket! Needs to spend more time with Vikram Rathod!

The ICC 50-over Cricket World Cup is being held in this year, and India’s shocking defeat to Australia in the third one-day international cost them the first ODI series of 2023. India was given a little bit of another reality check last night at the MA Chidambaram Stadium as the Baggy greens won the series by a score of 2-1.

India’s problems in the batting order, particularly in the middle order, were revealed by Steve Smith’s team. Although not much had altered since the second ODI, we can say that the performance was somewhat better. The Indian players at least engaged in combat, made an effort to go deep, and gave themselves a shot.

The explosive Surya Kumar Yadav was one batter who did not believe in himself or give himself an opportunity, though. His explosiveness was absent throughout the entire three-match ODI series as he was dismissed for a Golden duck on each of the three times.

However, India Head coach Rahul Dravid is unbothered about Surya Kumar Yadav’s form and it is not too early for the batter to be sat out and dropped. He mentioned that SKY despite having a lot of experience in the IPL still needs time to learn and adapt to the second longest format of Cricketer.

“He has played a lot of T20 cricket. He has played a lot of high pressure T20 games. Even though he has played a lot of T20 cricket I think he has not played a lot of one-day cricket. We need to give him some time and be patient with it. We certainly see the upside of him doing well.” – said Rahul Dravid about Surya Kumar Yadav.Â
