The dates of the prestigious ICC World Cup 2023 tournament will be released soon. The rumors were split before the official statement that the tournament would occur in October and November. However, ICC did not make any public statement, which is unusual if analogised with previous ODI World Cup Tournaments.

The 13th edition of the premier tournament will take place in India. The ICC has confirmed the venue but maintained silence on the dates. The ICC official and their chief executive mentioned that the ICC will announce the dates as soon as possible.
Dates for ODI World Cup Not Released Yet
This is the first time in the history of the ODI World Cup that the dates have not been disclosed till the four months remaining time.
The schedule for the 2015 world cup in Australia and New Zealand was disclosed 18 months before the first match. In contrast, the schedule for the 2019 ODI World Cup in England and Wales was also revealed 13 months earlier. It is therefore noted that the tournament has some four months remaining and the dates have not been disclosed.
The BCCI secretary Jai Shah stated that the schedule for the tournament will be unveiled during the WTC final. However, the chief executive of ICC, Geoff Allardice said, “I believe that we may already be receiving the schedule from the hosts today (Wednesday), and we simply need to discuss with all of the competing teams and the broadcasters. Then, as soon as we can, we’ll publish that.”
“Some things will occur at some stages before. A host is in charge of a lot, therefore they need to follow the right checks and balances to put on a good event”, Allardice added.
The tournament is all set to begin in October this year in India, just that the dates are yet to be released.
