In another development that might shock the already shocked New Zealand team, star pacer Matt Henry hasbeen ruled out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Henry is all set to miss the final stretch of the event including tomorrow’s all important clash against Pakistan.

The 31-year-old sustained an injury on his right hamstring during New Zealand’s previous league stage match against South Africa at Pune. In that match, perhaps everything went wrong for the Kiwis who saw the Proteas register a 190-run win.

But New Zealand’s preparations faced a setback when their most in form Fast bowler Matt Henry snapped his right hamstring. The Blackcaps’ technical committee were quick to name Kyle Jamieson as his replacement who flew into Bengaluru yesterday.

Jamieson has played 13 ODIs for the 2015 and 2019 CWC runners-up and has picked up 14 wickets. He was already with the Kiwi squad and his inclusion has now been offically confirmed by Coach Gary Stead.
