ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 : Pakistan could play their matches at Bangladesh!

Another page in the never ending saga of Pakistan not traveling to India for the World cup has been added as a latest report has suggested that Bangladesh could turn out to be the neutral venue for Pakistan during the upcoming ICC Cricket World cup 2023 in India.

It all started after BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stated that India will to tour to Pakistan for the next Asia Cup and he spoke about exploring a neutral venue for the respective matches. There is no clear cut verdict on this but the PCB has apparently chosen Bangladesh as the venue to play their matches in the World cup which is scheduled to begin from October 5.

The same report further indicated that discussions have already begun and another major development could unfurl in the forthcoming weeks ahead. There is no concrete reasoning behind Pakistan’s withdrawal from coming to India but it rather seems that it is more or less giving BCCI the taste of their own medicine.

While Pakistan is contemplating about Bangladesh, the only 2 realistic destination for India is Oman and UAE as these 2 places closer to Pakistan. A lot on this matter depends upon the governments of both the countries. Both the nations haven’t squared up in a bilateral series since 2013 and the last time Pakistan came to India was in 2016 for the ICC T20 World cup.

“It’s important to see how other members (of ACC) look at our stance on Asia Cup. What they think is important, but in the end we must realize how much clout the BCCI with its financial power carries in world cricket.”  – said PCB Chief Najam Sethi.
