Andre Russell, the flamboyant Caribbean player who is known for his all-round ability and the one who always grasp headline with his performance. His overall ability with both bat and ball is simply impeccable. He has fallen in the category of players that KKR wants to have in their team.
As he said something about his love for IPL and franchise Kolkata Knight Riders that will melt your heart as he said, “Playing in IPL (Indian Premier League) gives me goosebumps and he said that he wants to be a part of Kolkata Knight Riders until the end of his carrier”.
He has become the biggest match-winner for the franchise along with Sunil Narine. He has been part of the team since 2014.
He quoted to the official website of Kolkata Knight Riders “Let me tell you very honestly. I love playing in CPL and IPL both. Especially IPL as the way the crowd loves us is simply amazing there cannot be any comparison. The reception that I get at Eden Gardens cannot be described in words”.
He further added that “That’s pure love which cannot be described in words. When Kolkatta needs 12-13 runs per over with 5 overs to go. They expect me to go out there and do my business. It seems like they are saying look we have got you back just go out and finish the job for our team”.
Also, he said “When I go out there to bat the pressure is huge on me. But it is good pressure and I like that because it brings the best out of me. Even while chasing at Eden Gardens I am not able to deliver the crowd still loves me”.
Taking about his record he has played 57 matches for KKR and scored 1342 runs. When it comes to his bowling he has clinched 54 wickets in the tournament.
The heart-wrenching thing that he said “You get emotionally involved with the club if you play for the club for a long time. Like a footballer who plays a particular club for a long time. You know that there will be a time when I will be saying goodbye to the club and I will get emotional and will cry at the moment”.
He has been Most Valuable player for KKR twice in IPL season in 2015 and 2019.
