AIFF announces dates for Indian Football season, transfer window for 2020-21 season

Gokulam Kerala FC  registered victory against Mohammedan Sporting in an I-League Championship round match at the Kalyani Stadium on Sunday due to the individual brilliance of Ghanian Forward Dennis Antwi.

With this victory, they have earned 26 points which is equivalent to other clubs like Tiddim Road Athletic Union(TRAU) and Churchill Brothers.

But Gokulam is currently sitting on the top with better head-to-head result.

However, all these three teams will be in contention to win the title during the mouthwatering last round on Saturday.

The recently concluded match GKFC played with purpose and with roles that every player was assigned to do during the match and they ticked all the boxes starting from Antwi who drew first blood when he chested down the ball inside the box and turned to his left to shoot his side home in the 19th minute of the game.

He replicated his class in the 33rd minute when he shot from a tight angle to surpass goalkeeper Priyant Singh for registering the second goal for his side and cement victory for his franchise.

The second half of the match was more interesting than the first half as the substitute player Zafar Ali Mondal made some excellent saves and the players at the forward line created some chances for his side.

In an early kick-off, TRAU and Churchill Brothers played out a 1-1 draw at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.
