Global T20 Canada: Matthew Forde Shines in Surrey Jaguars vs Vancouver Knights

Matthew Forde starred with the ball as Surrey Jaguars defeated Vancouver Knights by 38 runs in Qualifier 1 of the Global T20 Canada on Friday. Forde took 4 wickets for 16 runs in his 2.4 overs, including the key wickets of Fabian Allen and Mohammad Rizwan.

The Jaguars posted a modest 139-9 in their 20 overs, with their captain Iftikhar Ahmed top-scoring with 36 runs. Junaid Siddique also chipped in for the Knights with his major 4-wicket scalp for 22 runs. However, his magical bowling could not help his team win and the Jaguars posted a modest target of 139 runs in their 20 overs.

The Knights were never in the hunt in their chase, as they were bowled out for 101 in 16.4 overs. Forde was again the pick of the bowlers, with his 4 wickets helping to restrict the Knights to a below-par total. His magical spell broke the waist of Vancouver Knight’s batting.

The win takes the Jaguars into the final of the Global T20 Canada, where they will face the winner of the Eliminator between the Wolves and the Tigers. Forde was named the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance with the ball. He said that he was happy with his performance and that he was looking forward to the final.

“I’m really happy with my performance. “I was able to bowl well with the new ball and in the death overs. I’m looking forward to the final and hopefully, we can win it.” – Forde Said.

The Jaguars will be confident of winning the final, having already beaten the Knights once in the tournament. However, the Knights will be determined to make amends for their defeat, and they will have the home crowd behind them. The final of the Global T20 Canada will be played on Sunday at the CAA Centre in Brampton.
