The Montreal Tigers created history by winning the Global T20 Canada 2023. Undoubtedly, Sherfane Rutherford, played a big role, not only in the last match, but throughout the tournament. Through the tournament, he played with an average of 44, and that is a phenomenal average in the T20 format. He ensured to score in most of the games. It can be said that he was a strong pillar behind the success of his team. Without Sherfane Rutherford, it had been very difficult for the Montreal Tigers to win the tournament.

  • After Singh got out, the team’s score was 61-4. That is when the Montreal Tigers needed a good partnership. Rutherford formed a partnership of 45 runs with Dipendra Singh. 
  • The run rate required to win chase the target was very high in the last few overs. That is when Andre Russel, came up and got 20 runs only on 6 balls to win the tournament. He scored the final runs with a six on the last ball.
