Frank Leboeuf calls Chelsea to find consistency in their games

Former Chelsea player and French defender, Frank Leboeuf has asked the Blues to find consistency as the season is reaching towards its business end. The Premier League clubs are enjoying the winter break at the moment after the hectic January for the clubs as they had Carabao Cup and FA Cup commitments.frank-leboeu

Talking to the media, the French defender said that Frank Lampard should wake up his side as clubs like Tottenham Hotspurs, Manchester United, Sheffield United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are chasing the fourth-placed Chelsea. If the team sleeps at the moment, they would miss out on the Champions League action next year.

Airing his concerns, the Chelsea legend said:

“I have concerns, because you have to respect the other teams

They’re not going to give up, they’re going to try and catch [Chelsea].”

“I’m happy with what Frank does, the work he has done so far and how the team plays. I’m happy with [Antonio] Rudiger coming back and scoring two goals, because he’s going to help defensively too.

“But it’s possible that either Tottenham or Wolves, Man Utd come back to the race and overtake Chelsea at the end of the season.

“I don’t think we should be expecting anything from Chelsea this season because they didn’t recruit this summer, or during the winter market

“It’s hard for Frank Lampard, it’s hard for the club, but it’s nice to see them fighting and still a force after a hard summer.

“I’m confident they can still do it. It’s going to be hard, but I’m sure Chelsea can cope with the situation.”

After the dull draw against Leicester City, the Chelsea legend and manager, Frank Lampard said:frank lampard

“But it is taxing with the pressure, taxing with the players families, wives and children that maybe don’t see them so much when we have a lot of games.

“I absolutely think that the benefits of the break are there. They should enjoy it and then they’ll come back and work hard.

“Not a mini-pre-season but something alike to that at least to get them back. I think it’s good for the Premier League.”

The question remains that can Chelsea find the consistency and seal the fourth spot? Or the likes of other clubs snatch it away from the Blues?
