Former legendary Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad slams PCB for resuming PSL 2021 amid this pandemic time

Legendary Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad slams PCB for organising the remaining season of PSL 2021 in Karachi where the country is struggling with COVID-19.

He said that this is not the time to think about cricket it is about saving human lives which is more important than playing this gentlemen’s game.

Pakistan top T20 league which hosted first few matches of season 6 in the month of March has been temporarily suspended due to COVID 19 cases back then in bubble which was rescheduled in the month of June 2021.

“This is not the time to play cricket, it’s time to save lives. In these times of crisis, we should be more focused on saving lives rather than playing cricket. The whole world has been affected by the coronavirus. India, where the World Cup was supposed to take place, is also severely affected by the epidemic,” Javed Miandad told CricketPakistan.

The former cricketer added that PCB by organizing PSL amid this pandemic time is risking the life of players and support staff who will be taking part in the upcoming tournament.

“They are risking the lives of several individuals for their own financial gains. If it was in my hands, I would not take the big risk of organizing the remaining PSL matches. If they hold this event and face problems, then who will be responsible?” he added.

Pakistan team who recently registered victory against Zimbabwe will be playing next in PSL and after that they will be heading to England to play three T20 and three ODIs.
