The much-awaited State final rounds of the Fit India Quiz 2022 are scheduled to kick off on August 1, and audiences can catch the entire event live on Doordarshan Sports. With a total of 36 episodes, each representing one State, the daily broadcasts will start at 11 am, commencing with the finals of Madhya Pradesh. Moreover, for those who miss the broadcast, the episodes will also be made available on the Prasar Bharati Sports YouTube Channel, as per an official statement released by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The Fit India Quiz, now in its second edition, has been attracting widespread attention and participation from all corners of the country. The State final rounds showcased four teams from each State, having qualified through their exceptional performances in the district and zonal rounds.

An important recognition ceremony was held on July 23, wherein Anurag Singh Thakur, the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and Information and Broadcasting, felicitated 72 school students representing 36 States and Union Territories for their achievements and advancement to the National rounds. This gesture was a token of acknowledgment for their dedication and efforts in promoting fitness and sports.

The winning school from each State/UT was awarded a total prize money of Rs 2.5 Lakh, while the team of two students representing the victorious school received Rs 25,000. The State 1st Runner-up School was granted a prize money of Rs 1 Lakh, along with Rs 10,000 for the participating students. Similarly, the State 2nd Runner-up School received a cash award of Rs 50,000, and the students involved were rewarded with a total of Rs 5,000, following the guidelines set by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The Fit India National Fitness and Sports Quiz for Schools, now in its 2nd edition, was inaugurated on August 29 last year, coinciding with the celebration of the National Sports Day. The launch event was attended by Anurag Thakur, MoS Sports Nisith Pramanik, and Union Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan. Encouraged by the overwhelming success of the 1st edition, the 2nd edition witnessed an even higher participation from school students across the country.

The second edition of the quiz (Fit India Quiz 2022) attracted a significant surge in participation, with a total of 61,981 students from 16,702 schools spread across 702 districts of India taking part. In comparison, the first edition saw a participation of 36,299 students from 13,502 schools, marking an impressive 70% increase in student engagement between the two editions. This increase reflects the growing awareness and significance of fitness and sports among the youth of the nation.
