EARLY LIFE
Fernandinho was born on 4th May 1985 in Londrina, Brazil to Cristiane Machado de Oliveira and Luis Carlos Roza.
Fernandinho grew up in a poor family and never played youth Football like most of the Brazilian Footballers. He preferred menial jobs in other to feed his family and spend very little time with friends playing on the streets.
Fernandinho started his professional career from the Brazilian club Atletico paranaense which he luckily passed just after one successful trial.
PERSONAL LIFE
Fernandinho married his long-time girlfriend Glaucia Roza. As a sign of love, Fernandinho has Roza’s name tattooed on the inside of the left wrist.
The couple is blessed with a son named Davi Roza. Till this date, there are no rumors of their divorce or separation.
CLUB CAREER
Fernandinho as a part of the Brazilian club Atletico paranaense made 72 appearances, scoring 14 goals, before moving to Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee of around 7 million euros.
Playing along with the club in his first season he played 34 matches making 23 league appearances netting three goals with one coming in the league. In the 2007-08 season, he played a pivotal role through netting 11 goals thus helping the club to retain the Ukrainian Cup.
He also played a crucial role for the team in winning the 2008-09 Super Cup by 5-3 in the penalty shootout. In the same year, he assisted the team to conquer the UEFA Cup, Ukrainian Cup and the Ukrainian Premier League.
For the club, he contributed hi gameplay to win conquer the Ukrainian Premier League consecutively four times from 2009-13 as well as the Ukrainian cup three times from 2010-13
Fernandinho joined Manchester City on 6th June 2013, for a fee of 34 million euros. He made his debut for the club on 19th August 2013 when against the Newcastle United in a 4-0 win at the Premier League.
For the club, he won his first trophy as in League Cup by defeating Sunderland on 2nd March 2014. Playing along with the City he contributed his gameplay helping the club to win three Premier League, four EFL Cup and one FA Community Shield.
INTERNATIONAL CAREER
For the national team, Fernandinho made his debut on 11th August 2011 while playing against Germany in a friendly match. In his debut season, he acquired four caps.
His first goal came on 5th March 2014, while playing against South Africa. In May 2014 he was named in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in which Brazil acquired the fourth place, Germany became the title winner.
In 2018 May he was named in the Tite’s final 23 man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. On 6th July his team got eliminated by Belgium in the quarter-finals in the match Fernandinho netted an own goal for Belgium.
