Aston Villa’s Argentinian World cup winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is all set to travel to India this summer as a part of a promotion trip towards early July. This particular news broke out a couple of months ago and now the entire story as to why Emiliano Martinez will visit India is right in front of us.

According to reports, the Argentina International will mark his presence at the Mohun Bagan stadium to look over the club’s infrastructure, meet committee members and also inaugurate a new gate at the stadium which is being named as “Pele-Maradona-Sobers” Gate.

“Martinez will be felicitated and will also look around the infrastructure of our club and meet some selected members.” – an official statement by the club read.

Mohun Bagan have also slated a 5-member committee to look after Emiliano Martinez during his trip to West Bengal and to also ensure that everything goes smooth. It is not for the first time that West Bengal will be hosting an International footballer and a World cup winner.
