“Either we will play Asia Cup on Neutral Venue or we will Boycott it” said Senior BCCI Official on Asia Cup Controversy

Things are turning ugly when it comes to cricketing relationship between BCCI and PCB as the demands initiated by both boards is neither accepted nor rejected by all stakeholders due to which there is no clarity at the moment.

Based on new interview revealed by inside BCCI source in distinct media outlets that we will be playing Asia Cup on Neutral Venue or we will boycott the marquee event in Pakistan due to security reasons.

“I have not seen the proposal. But there has been no change in our stance. We want the tournament to be played at a neutral venue and not the UAE. We can’t risk any more injuries with the kind of heat there. Sri Lanka is best suited for the tournament. As of now, we have not discussed anything about boycotting it. Let’s first understand the situation and then we will take a call,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.

Other reports from Geo Tv indicate that, Pakistan Cricket Board has received backing from Sri Lanka Cricket and Bangladesh Cricket Board to host marquee event in Pakistan.

“See, all 5 nations need to be on the same page for this to go ahead. We want the tournament to be shifted out entirely and that is for everyone’s safety considering the political tension in Pakistan. We will know more this week when we meet other stakeholders,” BCCI official added.

There are two proposals shared by Pakistan Cricket Board, in Asian Cricket Council meeting in the below format:

Proposal Number 1: Pakistan will host all games while India will play their matches at their neutral venue.

Proposal Number 2:  The Tournament will be divided into two phases in Pakistan as they will be hosting first few games in their home conditions then they will move towards neutral venue in the 2nd phase and eventually final game will be held at Neutral Venue.
