Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the most popular players in the world with a huge fan following. Former skipper is considered the most successful captain who made India win 3 major ICC trophies under his captaincy. Dhoni had announced his retirement from all formats in 2020 via an instagram post on his account. However, despite him being retired from international format, Dhoni has not left his place for his IPL franchise Chennai Super King and might be seen again in yellow jersey in this session of Indian Premier League.
Amid rumours about his retirement from Indian Premier League, Deepak Chahar had a wonderful reply on his behalf whether he will retire after this season or continue to represent Chennai Super King as a player henceforth. In a recent engagement, CSK fast bowler Deepak Chahar was asked about the matter, and he had an incredibly fascinating response.
“No one has stated that this is his final year. At the very least, he hasn’t. Hopefully, he will get more playing time. We have no idea; we want him to play as much as he can,” Chahar told News India Sports.
He understands when to retire, as evidenced by his performances in Test and international cricket. Nobody else is aware. I simply hope he keeps playing because it’s an honour to play under him. Playing with him has been a dream come true. He’s also in terrific form, which you’ll see when he bats in the IPL this year,” he continued.
Dhoni will captain CSK in the 2023 season, and he already voiced his enthusiasm about playing in front of a home crowd for the first time in a long time.
“Definitely. It’s a simple reason: it would be unjust to not play in Chennai and thank the supporters. Mumbai is one area where I have gained experience both as a team and as an individual.
