Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has expressed his desire to play for the Red Devils more 400 games in the coming years, implying that he wishes to spend more time with the club.

Last week the goalkeeper had surpassed his predecessor Peter Schmeichel, one of the prominent keepers of the United, by playing more than 399 games. However, the goalkeeper plans on extending his tenure with the club for more years.

“It’s something amazing just to be part of this club. It’s something crazy… imagine reaching 400 games… it’s something very, very special for me and hopefully, I can play another 400 games and just enjoy things day by day and enjoy being part of this club.

“I just want to keep playing and enjoying training and enjoying being with my team-mates and the staff and everyone. I just enjoy wearing the Manchester United shirt in every game and to play at Old Trafford is always special.” the goalkeeper said.

Gea had joined the side back in 2011 in a long term deal, and also signed another new contract in September 2019 with Solskjaer’s team.

David de Gea has so far achieved notable accolades at the Old Trafford including Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup titles.

Manchester United is into the quarter-finals of the Europa League and also into the semi-finals of the FA Cup. United is currently 5th in the Premier League rankings and set to face Crystal Palace in its next Premier League fixture on Friday.
