Earlier, some reports had suggested CSK might not play the season opener as 13 members of the CSK contingent, including two players, had tested positive for coronavirus.
However, in the recent set of developments, it was reported that all the players have been found negative in the two tests conducted after the extended quarantine period. Though, Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad who tested positive on Friday will stay isolated for two weeks.
HARBHAJAN SINGH PULLED OUT OF IPL 2020
The problems aren’t ready to subside for CSK as Harbhajan Singh recently pulled out of IPL 2020, citing personal reasons. With that, he became the second player after Suresh Raina to pull out of IPL 2020. Though, if reports are to be believed, Suresh Raina is likely to make a comeback in the tournament.
The management hasn’t yet announced any replacement for both the players. It would be difficult to find a replacement for Harbhajan as there seems to be a dearth of world-class off-spinners in Indian right now.
The thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League will start from 19th September 2020. The final match of the tournament will be played on 10th November 2020. All the matches will be played at three stadiums- Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
