The wait is over as the T20 cricket is back. The 2020 edition of the Caribbean Premier League is all set to kickstart from 18th August, 2020. The league will also see the commencement of the first T20 franchise tournament since Coronavirus took the world by storm.
CPL 2020 will see six teams playing as many as 33 matches over 24 days. Each team will play every other team twice- home and away and the top four teams will reach the semi-finals.
Both the semi-finals will be played on 8th September. The winners of the semi-finals will square up against each other in the final on 10th September at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
Caribbean Premier League is one of the most popular T20 franchise tournaments in the world. A total of 7 editions have been conducted so far. Trinbago Knight Riders have been the most successful franchise in the tournament, having won the title as many as three times in 2015, 2017 and 2018. Jamaica Tallawahs won the inaugural tournament 2013 and also in 2016.
CPL 2020 POINTS TABLE:
As far as the CPL points table is concerned, it will get updated after every match. For every match won by a team, two points will be awarded, while the losing team won’t get any point. In the case of a draw, both teams will get one point each.
