Caribbean Premier League Teams Announces the List of Retained Players

Caribbean Premier League has become one of the most successful t20 tournaments in the world.  A lot of young cricketers are rising to fame through this league and if they are good enough they go on and represent their International team “West Indies”.

However, teams like St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have announced the list of Caribbean players who will be retained for this upcoming CPL season 2020.

International retention and signing by these teams will be announced on a later date.

The best part is that teams can retain as many players from the previous edition as it will give them a complete chance to retain those players who have done well in the previous edition.

Also if they want they can transfer players also and can go for the young emerging talents.

The patriots have chosen to retain or sign seven Caribbean players ahead of the CPL draft, including Denesh Ramdin for Tribango Knight Riders.

The Patriots have announced that Rayad Emrit will captain their team and Australian Simon Helmet will be the Head Coach of the team for 2020 season.

As Emrit said after his appointment “I am very excited for CPL this time and this year we have got the perfect side and also our coach Simon Helmet knows CPL very well. It will be my honour to lead this exciting franchise and I will work with Simon to make sure that we reach in the final”.

The CPL is likely to start from August 19 and last till September 26 but it is not mandatory that the tournament will resume on this date as organizers are having a close look on COVID 19 based on the situation they will go ahead and take the call.

CPL was started in 2013 and gradually it grasped all the eyeballs and 2019 with more broadcasting and coverage expansion they were able to reach across 312 million which is a huge number and due to which it is on the verge to become the fastest growing league in the world.
